ABOUT US
Dan's Statues is a privately owned small business that began with an entrepreneurial dream more than thirty years ago. Dan began selling statuary and plaques as a side business while simultaneously working as a painter, contractor, and horseman. Initially, the business sold prefabricated non-concrete statuary that Dan imported and then painted. Before long, he realized he could produce a superior product by making his own molds and using them to produce the statuary himself. He flew in a mold maker who trained him in the process, which Dan perfected and improved on over the next fifteen years. After working in a variety of mediums, Dan settled on durable, high-quality concrete as the material for his product line. Always with an eye to the time when he could dedicate himself to the statuary business, Dan reached and then passed retirement age. In 2017 he met Marge, his future wife, shared his dream with her, and together they set about realizing that dream. Today, Dan's makes 98 percent of its own molds and individually hand-pours each piece in small-batch pours to ensure a thorough cement/sand mix for quality concrete. Dan's ever-expanding product line now numbers nearly 800 statues, vases, benches, mirrors, and ready-to-hang wall pieces from which retail and wholesale customers can choose. In addition, virtually all statues can be purchased as a lamp. All pieces are available in raw concrete or any of a variety of finishes including stone, bronze, copper, and pewter and range in price form $6.00 to $200.00. Custom painting, restoration, and repainting services are also offered. Dan's is located at 233 Wilbraham Street, Route 20, Palmer, Mass. Dan's can also be found annually in the Young Building at the Big E (Eastern States Exposition) in West Springfield, Mass., during the fair in September.
